Individual Health Coaching
|The three month or six month health coaching programs are the "signature programs", I like to describe the programs to clients as a "healthy overhaul". However, you are welcomed to continue on for as many sessions as you need, I won't "cut you off" at the end of the three months if you feel you need more sessions. And you also don't need to worry, I will not restrict any foods or force you to follow a crazy diet. Instead we will work slowly, at your pace to add in new foods and lifestyle changes that work best for you. |
The reason the program is a minimum of three months is because it takes TIME to make lasting changes. Not only does it take time time for your body to adjust, but your brain has to make the "healthy shift" as well. Our body always wants us to eat healthy and balanced foods, it's our brain that gets in the way with chatter.
The "chatter" can sometimes sound like this:
"It was a hard day at work, I'm tired I'll just skip dinner and have some ice cream, that will make me feel better"....
"I'll just lick the bowl from the cookie batter, it won't even count"

Ok, so how the heck do you STOP the cycle of diet, binge, energy crash, feel bad... diet, binge, energy crash, feel bad......
You learn to trust your body and you create a balance on the inside so you crave healthy whole foods MORE than you crave sugar, fat or salt. (Because it's not about being perfect it's about feeling good in your own skin!)
The sessions are personalized to your own health goals, but we cover topics ranging from how to control cravings, to figuring out which type carbs and protein work best for you, so you can still eat and feel satisfied while balancing your body weight! All programs start off with a no obligation health and nutrition consultation. You will walk away from this consultation with at least two suggestions to help you create a healthier lifestyle!

Initial Health Consultation
This consultation is a 30-60 minute appointment, it is held in person or over the phone. This is simply a chance for us to talk and get to know each other and for me to get a clear idea of your needs and how I can support you.

"I first met Renee at her Sugar Blues Workshop. I found the class interesting, but I just was not ready to commit to a health counseling program. After another six months of eating out almost every day of the week, skipping breakfast, not exercising and just feeling lousy, I decided that the time had come to do something. I was skeptical when I met with Renee the first time. I listened to her make statements like: "You will want to eat greens" (some which I had never heard of before) "You won't want to eat out"! "Your body will crave healthy foods". My first reaction was that although this woman seemed to be very nice, she had to be delusional. I could not remember the last time that I had cooked more than one possibly two dinners in a week more likely in a month. BUT because I had decided that I needed to do something and this was the something I had picked, I enrolled in the six-month program.
I tried things that I never thought that I would eat before, and I found that they tasted good. I started to feel better. I had more energy, and crazy as it may sound, I really did not want to eat out anymore. Cooking started to be fun. I remember at my first visit I told Renee that I only cook from recipes, and I follow the recipe religiously. Now, if I don t have everything that I need for a recipe, I improvise. I have even ventured into just throwing things together and seeing how they come out. I now cook home almost every night, and when I do eat out I look for the healthier things on the menu. I started to look for kale when I was in a snacking mood at night. Kale, me? Who would believe it!
I learned a lot about food while seeing Renee, but the best part of the entire program (aside from meeting a new friend, of course) is that Renee treats the whole person. I learned a lot about myself, the person, during the six months that I spent with Renee. I would recommend this program for anyone because even if you think that you are doing all of the right things, there is always that little something that you are missing". ~Deb B.
