FAQ's How does health counseling differ from traditional nutritional counseling? What does a Holistic Health Counselor do? If I sign up for a six-month program can I "back out" at any point? What type of results can I expect from my health counseling program? Is Holistic Health Counseling right for you?
How does health counseling differ from traditional nutritional counseling? When you are enrolled in a Health Counseling Program with me I WILL NOT give you a list of foods to eat and a list of foods to avoid and send you on your way. We will take our time and explore the foods that work best for your body and we do this by adding in healthy foods rather than restricting or taking things away. I like to think of food restriction like stretching a rubber band too far, sooner or later it's going to SNAP! And that's exactly what happens when we, as humans try to restrict ourselves from certain foods, we end up either cranky and miserable or we loose it and binge on anything and everything we can get our hands on! I can honestly say that if you put in the effort, when you finish your program being and eating healthy will no longer be something "you have to do", it will just be who you are.

What does a Holistic Health Counselor do? A Holistic Health Counselor gathers information about an individual and from that information, creates a personalized program to improve the client's health and well being. The program works by adding in new and healthy foods and informs the client about the latest and most helpful health and nutrition tips that feel best to them. A Health Counselor also works with the client to make an emotional connection with themselves so that when the client finishes the six-month program they are armed with every tool they will need to make the healthiest choices for themselves for the rest of their life! (A Health Counselor does not force or even encourage clients to live off of "nuts, berries and tree bark"!)

If I sign up for a six-month program can I "back out" at any point? I am committed to my clients 100%! I recommend that a client makes sure that they are committed 100% to themselves and to improving their health before signing up for the program. (P.S. I have never had a client want to quit!)

What type of results can I expect from my health counseling program? The results of the program vary from person to person, it is based on how much you, the client puts in to it. What I mean by that is, I have a big "bag of tricks" I pull from to guide clients to improve their health. It is up to you, to put these "tools" to work in your life. You do that by showing up on time for each of the scheduled appointment we have and by trying out the "goals" we set at each session. In general the positive feedback I hear from my clients is: improved digestion, weight loss, mental clarity, better sleep, "feeling better in my own body"....... the list could go on and on.
